George Vincent Gilligan, Jr. Biography:

Gilligan studied film at New York University as well as in 1994 started to act as a writer on The X-Files. In 2008, he found the television series Breaking Bad, about a chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin.

Gilligan’s dad, George Sr., worked as an insurance adjuster and his mom, Gail, was a teacher. The two divorced in 1974. Gilligan grew up in Farmville, Virginia, and afterwards moved to Chesterfield County during high school.

From a very young age, Gilligan was brought to storytelling. His grandpa owned a Richmond bookstore where Gilligan was a regular customer, picking up comic books and science fiction paperback books.
