Valentino analyzed fashion design from a young age, finishing his formal learning Paris and beginning his own line in Rome in 1959. From the mid-1960s, Valentino was a favourite designer of the planet ‘s best-dressed girls, including Jacqueline Kennedy. Among his signatures is a unique cloth color, known as “Valentino red.”

He started working in the fashion industry in a young age, apprenticing under local designers including his aunt Rosa. Giammetti, an architecture student, immediately became Valentino’s associate, both professionally and romantically. Collectively, the pair developed Valentino SpA into an internationally established brand. Valentino’s international introduction occurred in 1962, in the Pitti Palace in Florence. The show cemented the designer’s name and brought the interest of socialites and aristocratic girls from all over the world. In just several years, Valentino’s layouts were considered the pinnacle of Italian couture.

Among Valentino’s most notable customers was Jacqueline Kennedy. Kennedy acquired an curiosity about the designer’s work after respecting friends in a number of Valentino outfits. In 1964, Kennedy purchased six clothing in black and white, which she wore throughout the year after the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy. In 2007, Valentino declared he would hold his closing haute couture show in January of the next year. This closing show, presented in the Muse Rodin in Paris, featured renowned models including Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova, who’d worked with Valentino throughout their runway professions.
