Close buddies with writer Lord Byron, Moore was entrusted with all the well-known romantic’s memoirs after his departure. The memoirs were combusted by guys representing the interests of Byron’s estranged wife and his half sister. As for his own work, Moore composed 130 authentic poems set to folk tunes, including “The Minstrel Boy” and “The Last Rose of Summer.” Moore died in 1852.
