Sanya Richards Biography:
Produced in 1985 in Jamaica, Sanya Richards-Ross moved to America in her early adolescents to pursue her fit fantasies. She excelled at track in high school and in the University of Texas, and won several NCAA tournaments in 2003. In 2004, Richards Ross won an Olympic gold medal within the U.S. 400-meter relay team. She earned two more medals in the 2008 Olympic Games. In the year 2012, Richards Ross won the 400-meter race in the World Indoor Championships. She went to win gold in the women’s 400 meters in the 2012 Summer Olympics, held in London. Produced in Kingston, Jamaica, on February 26, 1985, Sanya Richards-Ross moved to America along with her family in the age of 12. They lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a place her parents would better satisfy their aspiring track star’s livelihood.
While a student in the University of Texas, Richards Ross became the 2003 NCAA 400-meter champ. Competing at the 2004 Summer Olympics, Richards Ross helped bring home gold in the 400-meter relay race. Richards Ross took the track world by storm in 2006 with two successes in the World Cup, taking the very best position in the 200-meter and 400-meter events.
Richards Ross started fighting with some health problems in 2007, and needed to sit out the 2010 season due to an injury. She quickly regained, however, and became the 400-meter World Indoor Champion in the year 2012. After receiving a bronze medal in 2008, Richards Ross started to concentrate on reaching your own goal: Earning a gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The triumph marked her first separate gold medal. “I worked so hard for that, and that I prepared with this moment over and over for the past four years,” Richards Ross said following the race, in accordance with the Washington Post. Following her gold medal triumph, Richards Ross went to compete in the 200-meter final, but did not medal in the race, finishing fifth in 22.39 seconds.
Richards Ross is married to her college boyfriend, Aaron Ross, an expert football player. He played with all the New York Giants from 2007 to 2011, and is now an associate of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Outside of contest, Richards Ross runs the Sanya Richards Fast Track Application to assist kids in her native country, Jamaica.
