Reeve Carney Biography:
Produced in New York in 1983, Reeve Carney began his professional music career around age 15, playing guitar at B.B. King’s club in Los Angeles, California. Shortly, he began his own group, Carney, with brother Zane. Carney released its first full length record in 2010, the exact same year the young musician/performer started starring as Peter Parker in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. With that important job under his belt, Carney has gone to appear in film as well as on TV, notably being cast as Jeff Buckley in the biopic of the singer songwriter, Mystery White Boy.
Reeve Carney was born in Nyc ‘s West Village on April 18, 1983. He directed his gift toward a profession early on, singing jingles for radio and television advertisements as a kid. At age 8, Carney sang during a holiday concert at Nyc ‘s Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center with Peter, Paul and Mary, and he formally became a professional performer in 1993 using a modest part in the movie The Saint of Fort Washington.
Little parts shortly followed on TV’s Dave’s World (1994) as well as the animated Pon Poko (1994), but Carney’s love of music hadn’t disappeared, and he stepped up his efforts in the area, composing songs and learning various instruments. In 1997, Carney auditioned for the movie Snow Falling on Cedars, getting the part of young Ishmael Chambers. His performance got glowing reviews and later earned him the 2000 Young Artists Award for the best performance in a feature film.
Following a move to La, California, Carney attended the Academy of Music at Alexander Hamilton High School and started performing in local nightclubs and music venues. The Carney brothers left USC to concentrate on the group, and signed with Interscope Records in 2006. The group went on tour and eventually opened for U2 in New Brunswick, Canada, to the last date of U2’s “360 Tour.” The link with U2 was just beginning, yet, as 2010 indicated a fresh site for Carney—Broadway—and this time, both his musical and acting gifts would be on display.
Taking the lead character in the much-hyped and quite high-priced Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with lyrics by U2’s Bono along with the Edge, Carney was thrust into the limelight like never before. The show started running previews in November 2010. Since breaking up with celebrity Ashley Greene in the year 2012, Carney continues to be linked romantically to country singer songwriter Taylor Swift.
