Anatoliy Neymark Biography:

Produced on February 5, 1992, in So Paulo, Brazil, Neymar attracted attention for his remarkable football skills at a very young age. In May 2013, the talented child declared his move to Europe to play for Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona.

The son of a former professional soccer player, Neymar followed in his dad’s footsteps by playing street games and futsal, an indoor variant of the match. He joined the Portuguesa Santista youth club in 1999, and within several years was among the very highly regarded young talents in the united states.

Neymar joined the youth strategy of Santos FC at age 11. News of his skills spread to Europe, and he was offered the opportunity to carry on his development with Real Madrid C.F. at age 14, but the Santos team’s direction apparently convinced Neymar to stay put with a big bonus.

That season he also made his debut for the senior national team and debuted a Mohawk-style haircut, which immediately became popular among younger devotees.

In 2011, the flamboyant forward created what will be voted the FIFA Goal of the Year and led Santos to its first Copa Libertadores tournament in 48 years. Yet, he also started to feel the backlash that accompanies popularity.

Neymar scored his 100th professional goal on his 20th birthday in the year 2012 and ended the year having a career-best total of 43. Although Santos won its third straight league title, the youthful star again was subject to criticism when Brazil lost the 2012 Summer Olympics gold medal match to an underdog Mexico team.

In May 2013, Neymar declared he was making the jump to Europe having a transport to FC Barcelona, a strong club that featured superstar Argentine striker Lionel Messi and several members of the Spanish national team.

Shortly later, the wunderkind quieted a share of his critics by leading Brazil to success in the 2013 Confederations Cup, signaling his willingness to shoulder larger anticipations on the planet stage.

Neymar’s performance shined in the 2014 World Cup on his home jurisdiction of Brazil, but was cut short before the finals. On July 4, 2014, minutes before Brazil won its quarterfinal match against Colombia, Neymar was taken in the field in a stretcher in tears of anguish after breaking a bone in his back caused by a challenge by Colombia’s defenseman Juan Zuniga. Reports have suggested the harm will take weeks to heal as well as the athlete will likely be sidelined for the rest of the tournament. Brazil’s hope for the World Cup title was destroyed when they lost their nextsemifinalmatch to Germany 7-1.
