Produced March 12, 1957, Marlon Jackson was the sixth of the Jackson kids, one year older than brother Michael. In the late 60s, the five earliest Jackson brothers formed The Jackson 5, and signed with Motown. Their songs “I Want You Back,” “ABC” and “I Will Be There” topped the charts and made them musical senses. After Michael Jackson left to continue a solo career, the remaining members moved to Epic Records before eventually disbanding. Following the departure of Michael, the Jacksons reunited for the show The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.
As an associate of the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons, Marlon Jackson has enjoyed tremendous success in the music business. In the beginning, his old brothers Tito, Jermaine and Jackie performed as the Jackson Brothers with their dad serving as their supervisor.
From the late 1960s, Marlon and smaller brother Michael were part of the act, that was currently called the Jackson 5. The group was signed to the well-known Motown record label by Berry Gordy in 1968. The group continued to see its popularity skyrocket during the the next couple of years with such hits as “ABC” and “I Will Be There.”
