Produced on January 22, 1973, in Louisville, Kentucky, photographer Larry Birkhead was romantically tied to the delayed waiter turned Playboy pinup/model turned heiress Anna Nicole Smith. After much legal dispute, a DNA test demonstrated that Birkhead is the daddy of Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn. Having complete guardianship, the single dad is now encouraging his daughter to follow in her mother’s modeling footsteps.
(She neglected to get some of her husband’s estate but made loads on her own through modeling and starring on reality television.) Birkhead and Smith were once fairly serious, according to him; he promised they lived together and were involved during her pregnancy. But Smith spun another story to the press.
On September 26, 2006, Larry Birkhead was caught off guard when Smith openly proclaimed the dad of her daughter, Dannielynn (who was born 19 days before), was her attorney and close confidante, Howard K. Stern. Sure that Dannielynn was his, Birkhead filed a proper paternity suit on October 2, 2006. Two months after her departure, DNA tests substantiated Birkhead’s claim. Finally, Stern and Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, acquiesced, as did Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Frdric Prinz von Anhalt, who also considered he might have been Dannielynn’s father.
She will be 7 in 2013. Dannielynn inherited a considerable estate from her mother; some specialists estimate the child’s value at around $10 million. Birkhead may foster Dannielynn’s financial status even more with specific parenting choices. In the year 2012, he’d her modeling for Guess—a move garnering public backlash as being exploitive since her mom had modeled for the same firm in the 1990s. A defensive Birkhead clarified that it had been a way because of his kid to get in touch with her dead mother. The single parent has insisted that he is committed to giving his little girl a “regular life.”
