Since 2003, he is a cast member of Saturday Night Live.
As a kid, his mother, Elizabeth Ann Thompson, motivated him to take acting classes. The exact same year, he started appearing on the favorite Nickelodeon show All That. In 1996, he and All That costar Kel Mitchell started starring on an extremely successful spinoff, Kenan and Kel, which continued four seasons and helped earn Thompson a Kids’ Choice Award in 1998.
After leaving Nick, Thompson appeared in several pictures, including Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000), Love Do Not Cost a Thing (2003), Barbershop 2 (2004) and Snakes on a Plane (2006). “That was amazing, that was like a fantasy come true!” Thompson after said in regards to the expertise. “He is the very first comic which I was aware that I could see as a child. Other comics were overly filthy, I could not see them. But Bill Cosby, I really could see him all the time.”
In 2003, Thompson won a character on Saturday Night Live and has appeared on the show for over eight seasons. Well known for his opinion of Bill Cosby and Whoopi Goldberg, he’s joked that he was initially brought to replace Tracy Morgan.
In 2011, Thompson wed model Christina Evangeline at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. Spending time between La and New York, Thompson has noted he want to begin his own production firm one day: “The things I do are interesting; it is difficult to call it a job, despite the fact that I do take it seriously.”
