Kate McKinnon was born in Sea Cliff, Ny, on January 6, 1984. She graduated from Columbia University, where she studied theatre. McKinnon appeared to the Big Gay Sketch Show for quite a while before joining the cast of Saturday Night Live as a featured player in the year 2012. She’s also performed together with the Upright Citizens Brigade and composed several one woman shows. She’s openly homosexual.
McKinnon gravitated to music as a kid, playing the piano, guitar and cello. A movie and theatre buff, she loved dressing in costume and performance in dance recitals and plays. She also excelled academically. After graduating from high school, McKinnon studied theatre at Columbia University in Nyc.
McKinnon, who’s openly homosexual, got her big break in television included in the cast of the Logo network’s Big Gay Sketch Show. The audition procedure called for several grueling rounds in the front of producer Rosie O’Donnell, who winnowed the field from thousands to only 16. In May 2013, McKinnon played Wiig’s mom on an episode of SNL. Among her most famous perceptions are Ellen DeGeneres, Ann Romney, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Shakira.
Since joining the cast of SNL, McKinnon has appeared in numerous other stage and screen productions. Also, she’s performed several of one woman shows, including Kate McKinnon on Ice, Disenchanted and Best Performer.
McKinnon’s guarantee continues to be openly recognized. In 2009, the comedic performer received a Logo NewNowNext Award for greatest growing comedian.
