Karl Christian Rove Biography:

He ran several successful election campaigns, including John Ashcroft’s 1994 play for the U.S. Senate. He helped direct George W. Bush to a triumph in the Texas gubernatorial election in 1994. Rove’s was linked to scandals using the Bush administration, for instance, White House e-mail incident concerning the several U.S. attorneys’ terminations.

Created Karl Christian Rove on December 25, 1950 in Denver, Colorado. The second of five kids, Rove was raised in Nevada by his mom and stepfather. It was not until Rove was a teen that he found out that his stepfather–who at the time was leaving his mom after coming out as a gay–was not his biological dad. Rove’s mom committed suicide in 1981.

Rove attended the University of Utah, the University of Texas at Austin and George Mason University, however he never graduated from school. As a student in the University of Utah, he became active in the College Republicans. Rove eventually put aside his academic career to concentrate on politics full time.

From 1981 to 1999, he was president of Rove & Company, an Austin-based public affairs company that worked for nominees, nonpartisan causes and non-profit groups.

Rove helped direct George W. Bush to a triumph in the Texas gubernatorial election in 1994, subsequently served as chief strategist for Bush’s presidential campaigns in 2000 and 2004. He stayed as a close adviser to the Bush White House, managing the Office of Political Affairs, the Office of Public Liaison, as well as the Office of Strategic Initiatives.

Rove’s name was linked to a few scandals during his tenure with all the Bush administration, for instance, White House e-mail event concerning the dismissal of several U.S. lawyers and the conviction of former Democratic Governor of Alabama Don Siegelman.
