Emmy Award- and Golden Globe–winning actress Julianna Margulies has created strong female characters throughout her TV career.
Her mom was a former dance teacher and also a physical therapist. Her dad was well-known in his own right for composing the jingle for Alka Seltzer with the lyrics, “Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it really is.” After graduating, Margulies studied art history at Sarah Lawrence College, but participating in the institution ‘s theatre productions changed her dreams.
