Joseph Frank Pesci Biography:

Joe Pesci was born February 9, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey. After Robert De Niro viewed Pesci’s performance in The Death Collector, De Niro brought the movie to the eye of director Martin Scorsese, who cast Pesci in his 1980 masterpiece Raging Bull. This is the start of a long line of supporting characters for Pesci, who shortly became among the busiest character actors in the organization.

Produced Joseph Pesci on February 9, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey, Joe Pesci started his performing career in the age of four on a radio program. By 1953, he was a regular on the tv variety showStar Time Children. In the mid-1960s, he started a musical career below the name Joe Ritchie, recording an LP titled Little Joe Sure Can Sing, and afterwards played guitar in the pop band Joey Dee & the Starliters. However, together with the exception of the small-seen 1975 movie The Death Collector, the performer was not able to get his career off the earth. He chose to drop from performing and returned to Nyc to run a restaurant.

He shortly became among the busiest character actors available, appearing the 1983 Rodney Dangerfield comedy Easy Money along with the 1984 Sergio Leone epic Once Upon a Time in America.

After starring in the unsuccessful 1985 situation comedy Half Nelson, Pesci’s onscreen visibility fell, and over the following three years he appeared in just several pictures, among them Man on Fire (1987), andMoonraker (1988).

In 1990, Pesci found himself having a star-turning year, as he took a lead character in the household comedy hit Home Alone and set forth an Oscar-winning performance in Scorsese’s GoodFellas.

He then set his comic abilities to make use of once more in 1992 as the inept non-attorney in the success court comedy My Cousin Vinny, a movie that’s gone to attain cult status.

Back in his gangster component, in 1995, Pesci reunited with Scorsese and De Niro for the epic Casino, taking ona part that must have felt like familiar ground to the veteran performer. Nevertheless, some of badly received 1997 comedies, Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag and Gone Fishin’, again called Pesci’s abilities as a lead actor into question.

Only two years after, Pesci declared that he was retiring from playing, although he’s appeared here and there since. A three-time divorcee, Joe Pesci has one child, a daughter named Tiffany.
