Jason Michael Lee Biography:
Jason first burst onto the public stage as an expert skateboarder, subsequently built a profession as an actor. Lee appeared in films produced by Kevin Smith and Cameron Crowe before being a household name together with his character on the TV show My Name Is Earl. Lee has additionally been featured in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie franchise.
Produced on April 25, 1970, in Orange, California, Jason Michael Lee started skateboarding in his youth and ended up turning his love for the sport right into a profession. An expert skateboarder by the time he was 18, Lee’s journeys on the professional circuit exposed him to international culture and imagination.
Jason Lee understood his skateboarding career had a small shelf life, so he chose to pursue playing. In 1993, Lee appeared in the indie timeless Mi Vida Loca, directed by Allison Anders. The movie also featured director Spike Jonze as well as a then-unknown Salma Hayek in small parts.

An effective television career failed to keep Lee from playing in films. Lee has said he welcomes the opportunity to work with children’s films because he’s a dad himself.

Lee is a Scientologist. His first wife, Carmen Llywelyn, has spoken out regarding the dissolution of her marriage to Lee, crediting it in part to her unwillingness to take part in the cozy audits needed by the Church of Scientology.
The son was called Pilot Inspektor, a name inspired by the tune “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot” by the group Grandaddy.
