Gabrielle Allyse Reece Biography:
Gabrielle Reece was born in California in 1970. She afterwards became among the top faces of professional beach volleyball. Reece is wed to surfer Laird Hamilton.
One youngster, she was only 5 years old when her dad died unexpectedly in a plane crash. The disaster made Reece’s breeding in the control of her mom, Terry Glynn, a writer and ex-dolphin trainer.
Glynn finally remarried as well as the new family soon settled in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Several years after, Reece and her mother transferred St. Petersburg, Florida.
Fast, Reece garnered interest not only for her play, but also for her beautiful looks. In her sophomore year, Elle magazine named the 6’3″ light-haired beauty on its list of “The Five Most Beautiful Women On Earth.”
For the remainder of her time at FSU, Reece juggled her modeling career, academic obligations and life as a school volleyball player. On the court, notably, Reece continued to shine, ultimately establishing school records in both career solo blocks and complete blocks.
In 1992, Gabrielle Reece stop modeling and focused her life entirely on professional volleyball. During the following several years, she became the face of women’s beach volleyball.
Reece went to direct her four-man team into a title in the 1997 Shore Volleyball Tournaments. 3 years after, she competed in the 1999-2000 Olympic Challenge Series.
Gabby Reece’s success on the court just amplified her star. Nike delegated her to become the first female athlete to create a shoe, and, for six straight years (1993-99), she served as the organization ‘s cross-training representative.
Reece has managed to leverage her sports and modeling livelihood into a number of other interests. Her fitness products feature lots of DVD work outs, including several geared toward anticipating moms. She is also written frequently about well-being and fitness to get a variety of publications, such as the La Times and The Huffington Post.
Reece’s onscreen credits range from the movies Cloud Nine (2004) and North Shore (2004), the CBS situation comedy Garry Single (200810), and NBC’s The Biggest Loser (2004).
