Evan Bayh was born December 26, 1955, in Shirkieville, Indiana. A couple of years after, he was elected governor. He was reelected governor in 1992. His second period expired in 1997. Senator. When Bayh arrived in Washington in January 1999, among his first jobs as a senator was to pass judgment on President Bill Clinton, who were impeached by the House. Bayh voted “not guilty” and Clinton was permitted to finish his term of office.

More traditional than his liberal dad, the second Sen. Bayh created himself as a centrist who seeks common ground with Republicans. In the Senate, Bayh formed a group known as the New Democrat Coalition, as well as in 2001 he became chairman of the powerful Democratic Leadership Council.
