Produced on January 29, 1942 in Paris France, Claudine Longet went to have a singing career, recording several records from 1967 to 1972. Shewed crooner Andy Williams in 1961, using the couple happening to have three kids. She also pursued acting, appearing on TV series likeMcHale’s Navy along with variety specials as well as the 1968 Peter Sellers’ filmThe Party.After separating from Williams, Longet started a relationship with skiing expert Vladimir Sabich, relocating to Aspen. She was finally found guilty of criminal negligence and served 30 days.
She finally relocated to Las Vegas during her late teens and worked as aa dancer in the Folies Bergere. Longet met vocalist Andy Williams and they wed in December 1961, going on to have three kids. They split in 1969 and divorced in 1975. Claudine Longet loved a successful singing career, appearing along with her husband on his variety show; the two continued to perform together after their separation. With Longet well-known in Asian markets at the same time, her tune “Wanderlove” was especially popular in Singapore.
Following the schism with Williams, Longet started a romantic relationship with world champion skier Vladimir “Spider” Sabich.Longet and her kids moved into his Aspen, Colorado house, although the relationship between the two was slowly rumored to possess developed tempestuous.
On March 21, 1976, Sabich was discovered dead on his bathroom floor, with Longet true holding the pistol that shot him. She later said the shooting was an injury that happened as Sabich was showing her how to handle the firearm. The vocalist/performer would finally be charged with reckless manslaughter. Longet’s exhusband Wlliams supported her throughout the trial, together with the case being a media scene and inciting powerful reactions from many Aspen residents.
Sabich’s family began a $780,000 civil suit against Longet. It had been settled out of court on the situation that she never tell or write about her time with Sabich. After the trial, Longet started a relationship along with her wedded defense co-lawyer Ron Austin, whom she afterwards wed. They reside in Aspen, and Longet has chosen to stay from the limelight.
