Cheryl Crane is the daughter of movie celebrity and model Lana Turner and celebrity Jef Stephen Crane. Crane was the only child of Turner, whose promiscuity and seven distinct husbands caused a troubled upbringing. In 1958 when she was only fourteen years of age, Crane overheard the guy threatening to kill her mom and she stabbed him, killing him instantly. A judge ruled the event justifiable murder and she was sent to live in a house for troubled girls. She released her autobiography, Detour: a Hollywood Narrative in 1988.
