Adam Peter Lanza was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, on April 22, 1992, to Nancy and Peter Lanza, who’d wed almost a decade before, on June 6, 1981. Adam had one brother, Ryan Lanza, who was six years his senior. Nancy Lanza, a longtime firearm ethusiast, apparently filed for divorce from her husband in December 2008. Then, Peter Lanza apparently relocated to Stamford, Connecticut, and consented to pay an annual alimony of $240,000 with regular increases. Adam Lanza, 16 years old during the time of his parents’ divorce, was described early on by classmates as “fidgety” and “greatly distressed.” According to a few of his family and friends members, he also suffered from Asperger’s syndrome.
Based on reports, all the shooting happened in two of the school’s first grade classrooms; 14 pupils in a single classroom, and six in another, were killed. Just a couple of the casualties who have been shot by Lanza—both teachers—survived the assault. The reason for all these senseless killings was uncertain.
Almost annually after this terrible event, the authorities released their report on the shootings. The report detailed, among other things, what researchers located in Lanza’s house. There have been numerous weapons along with ammo. Lanza also had several publications and articles on different mass killings. But all of the evidence still failed to give a definite picture why he chose to target the Sandy Hook Elementary School or what led him to go with this murderous rampage.
