Charles Ringling was born on December 3, 1863 in McGregor, Iowa. He and four of his brothers began the Ringling Bros. Circus and after that purchased the Barnum & Bailey Circus, efficiently managing the biggest circus in America. Ringling used his riches to get in and develop Sarasota County, Florida.
In addition to his six brothers four old and two smaller and younger sister, Ringling was raised in Baraboo, Wisconsin. In his late teens, Ringling took an fascination with performing skits and juggling routines in town halls throughout his home state. They brought in some cash, bought suits and top hats, and embarked on a journey to construct their very first official circus; the Ringling Bros. Circus was created in 1884.
