Mohammed Yasser Abdel Rahman Abdel Raouf Arafat al-Qudwa Biography:

Produced in Cairo in 1929, Yasser Arafat was named chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization 40 years after. From this place, he was at the vanguard of years of violence, border disputes as well as the Palestinian liberation movement, all centering on contiguous Israel. Arafat signed a selfgoverning pact with Israel in 1991, at the Madrid Conference, and jointly with Israeli leaders made several efforts at continuing peace shortly after, notably through the Oslo Accords (1993) as well as the Camp David Summit of 2000. Arafat ceded his PLO chairman place in 2003, and died in Paris in 2004. In November 2013, Swiss researchers released a report including evidence indicating that his departure was the consequence of poisoning.

Produced in Cairo, Egypt, in 1929, Yasser Arafat was sent to reside with his mom’s brother in Jerusalem when his mom died in 1933. (Arafat failed to attend his dad’s 1952 funeral.) In Cairo, while still a teen, Arafat started smuggling weapons to Palestine to be utilized from the Jews and British, the latter of which had an administrative part in the Palestinian lands.
