Robert Griffin III was born on February 12, 1990, in Okinawa, Japan. A burgeoning world class hurdler before focusing full time on football, “RG3” won the 2011 Heisman Trophy as the country ‘s top collegiate player. Chosen using the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, he immediately emerged as one of professional football’s most interesting and popular players before being slowed by injuries.

Robert Griffin III was born on February 12, 1990, at the Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. Griffin attended Copperas Cove High School, where he displayed tremendous promise for the football and track and field programs. The senior quarterback led Copperas Cove into a 13–2 record and an appearance in the Class 4A Division I state tournament match.

Griffin committed to play for the University of Houston’s Art Briles, among the few school trainers who wished to keep him at the quarterback position. When Briles was delegated to head the Baylor University football program, Griffin chose to register at Baylor before graduating Copperas Cove High School a session early.
