Radamel Falcao García Zárate Biography:

Produced on February 10, 1986, in Santa Marta, Colombia, Radamel Falcao started his football career in Colombia at age 13. He continued his development withArgentina’sClub Atltico River Plate, beating a serious kneeinjury to become a top scorer.

Following a tryout with Amsterdam’s AFC Ajax at age 11, the gifted kid made his advent with Colombian second-tier team Lanceros Boyac as a 13-year old.

Named to River Plate’s senior team in 2005, Falcao started the 2005-06 season with seven goals in as many matches. Nevertheless, the young striker tore an anterior cruciate ligament that November, a crushing injury that knocked him out of action for nearly annually.

Ultimately back to total health in 2007, Falcao shown the goalscoring wizardry that had surfaced before his injury. Despite standing a small 5’10”, the striker excelled at growing above defensemen on corner kicks. He scored a total of 45 goals in simply over 100 matches for River Plate, his play helping the team win the Argentine first division in 2008.

Signed by Portuguese powerhouse F.C. Porto in 2009, Falcao proved he fit in the European big leagues by ending just short of the scoring title and leading Porto to a Portuguese Super Cup triumph. He was even more striking the subsequent year, establishing a UEFA Europa League record with 17 goals en route to your career-high 38, as Porto went to claim league and Super Cup titles.

Falcao transferred in 2011 to Spain’s Atltico Madrid, where he continued his dizzying marking rate.
