Nick Cannon Biography

Produced on October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California, Nick Cannon has taken on nearly every facet of show business. He is acted, done stand up, hosted television and radio programs, made music , and it has composed, directed and produced amusement jobs.

In the age of 8, Nick Cannon got the performance bug after his grandpa gave him several musical instruments. Shortly after, he changed from music to doing stand-up comedy when he was encouraged to perform on his dad’s public access show. It was not long before a teen Cannon was working well known comedy clubs.

The rising star’s big break arrived when warming up crowds on Nick’s All That. The producers, understanding Cannon’s ability and appeal, set him on camera as a cast standard as well as a writer. At age 17, he became the youngest staff writer in television history for his work with the youthful sketch comedy show. Before he understood it, he was directing, producing and starring in Nickelodeon’s The Nick Cannon Show before going onto MTV’s improv show, Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out. The latter show, running from 2005 to ’07, was one of MTV’s most successful. The show has since returned to the little display in 2013 on MTV2.

The celebrity transitioned into films, earning a modest appearance in Men in Black II in 2002. The exact same year, Cannon got his first lead role in a movie, starring as Devon Miles in Drumline. His part in Bobby not only earned Cannon a nod in the Screen Actors Guild in 2007, and he was the very first African American to be honored together with the Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award in the Cannes Film Festival.

While building his performing profession, Cannon released a self-titled record in 2003. Following the radio show’s premier in 2011, Cannon made a decision to depart the Top 40 countdown two years down the line.

At the top of amusing, Cannon is involved in a number of entrepreneurial and non-profit enterprises. He runs the multimedia business NCcredible Entertainment, which establishes TV, movie, music and merchandising jobs. Despite juggling so much, Cannon still gives much of his time to charitable organizations as well as running his own charity, the Nicholas Scott Cannon Foundation.

On April 30, 2008, Cannon—27 years old at the time—wed vocalist Mariah Carey, who’s 11 years his senior. 3 years after, the couple welcomed fraternal twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe Cannon. As a family man, funny guy and business man, Cannon has still needed to keep a watch on his health, particularly after having a panic in 2012 with moderate kidney failure resulting from rare type of Lupus. Cannon says his wife was the most effective medication in this disaster. “She is so wonderful and so nurturing,” he told Good Morning America. “I call her Dr. Carey.”

In August 2014, after six years of union, Cannon and Carey called it quits. Cannon issued a statement saying the couple were living apart for several months.
