Mary Kate Olsen Biography:

Mary-Kate Olsen and her twin sister, Ashley, made their performing debut at 9-months-old on the ABC sitcom Full House. MaryKate checked herself into rehabilitation for anorexia in 2004. The creation company owned by the twins is called Dualstar.

The daughter of mortgage banker David Olsen and supervisor Jarnie Olsen, Mary Kate and her twin sister, Ashley, have become one of the hottest—and bankable—female characters in America. They made their performing debut in 1987 at 9 months old, discussing the function of the youngest daughter, Michelle Tanner, on the ABC family sitcom Full House.

From the age of 12, the daughters had starred in home videos, feature films, multimedia entertainment and another ABC TV show, Two of a Kind. Beneath the name Dualstar Entertainment, they produced several direct-to-video films, a line of musical detective videos entitled The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley, as well as the enormously successful You Are Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s celebration tapes. They’ve also introduced a set of company books to accompany the videos. In 1993, Our First Video went to the very top of the Billboard video music chart, and was followed soon by I Am The Cute One and Brother On The Market.

As well as acting, the Olsens have eventually become an enormous power in girl advertising. Products bearing their names, including video games, dolls, and an extremely popular clothing line for Wal Mart, are estimated to generate about $1 billion in retail sales alone annually.
