In June 2010, a 28-year old Lee was detained by officials in the Drug Enforcement Administration at Port Columbus International Airport in Ohio’s capital after arriving there on a chartered jet from Van Nuys, California, with 13 big bags, two helpers as well as a bodyguard. Inside the bags, officials allegedly located more than 500 pounds of cannabis, estimated at $500,000. When questioned, Lee told officials that she was a model as well as a recording artist, and that she was carrying things into a horse farm-owning boyfriend in Ohio.

A plea deal allegedly enabled her to received a reduced term (to the required minimum 10-year prison sentence) for her offense. Along with her prison time, Lee was ordered to pay a $20,000 fine.
