Harold Bloom Biography:

Produced in 1930 in nyc, literary critic and writer Harold Bloom is broadly known for his original theories on the development of literature, especially poetry. Produced on July 11, 1930 in nyc, Harold Bloom is among America’s best known literary thoughts. He’s the son of Jewish immigrants from Russia. At a very young age, Bloom acquired a passion for poetry, with American poet Hart Crane mentioned as among his early favorites. Bloom completed his bachelor’s degree in 1951 and then continued his studies at Yale. Several years later, Bloom became an associate of the university’s faculty.

During his long career, Bloom has authored dozens of publications. Bloom first made waves in literary groups with 1973’s The Anxiety of Influence: A Theory of Poetry. The work was seen as contentious by some for advancing the notion that poets possess a hard link to those that came before them, that living poets are striving to reach their place in literary history by attempting to outdo earlier writers.

At the suggestion of his publisher, he contained a set of works to be a part of the rule. The names and writers featured in this list became a supply of numerous discrepancies. Bloom afterwards described to Vice, “I did it off the very top of my head. Bloom left out lots of items that need to be there and I likely set in several matters that I now want to kick out.” More lately, he was written on one of earth ‘s most sacred texts with 2011’s The Shadow of a Great Rock: A Literary Understanding of the King James Bible.
